When we were very young, in school "and your life was an open book", there was no concept of time. At the present time in our house, we have a few clocks around that if you're very quiet, the tick, tick, tick, of the second hand shouts that time waits for no one.
During our days at school, events filled the hour glass and calendars, thoughts of future games and dances. We lived for the then and now of our day, without considering adulthood, or about entering senior adult life.
And so we have memories. Some of them are great, while other recollections have many looking forward, never to look back. Nevertheless, fond memories to me:
Football games, bands, pep rallies, church activities, bon fires, new clothes, orientation, pens and paper (do they still use those?), teachers, tests, friends, traitors, bullies, girl friends or boy friends, cliques, grades, class rings, homework, dances, class presidents, Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors, homecoming queen, Pizza, breaking up, gym class, gym teachers, coaches, losses, wins, lettermen jackets, the blackboard, chalk, overhead projector, school clubs, drama, laughing, crying, hall passes, study hall, going steady, crushes, favorite songs, Youth for Christ, janitors, lunch ladies and detention!
AND IT WAS ONLY FALL!
Kids have fun going Back to school!
