RUN TO WIN!

The Bible says to run the race that is set before us.  The Apostle Paul said all runners run to win. One statement is true; You can't win sitting in the bleachers!

Life has many hurdles that hinder others from running well or even coming out of the blocks.  They watch as a spectator or "from the locker room" hearing the cheers for the other runners.

                                                  IT'S NOT JUST SHOWING UP!

TO WIN AT ANYTHING IT FIRST REQUIRES:

                                                *Technique
                                                *Strength building
                                                *Flexibility
                                                *Training

Winning the prize, promotion, job, class, degree,  takes an intentional effort and preparation.  The Bible writer says:  "Throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

                                                                YOU CAN WIN!

Make the Connection

This is a great time to connect or make that re connection with God. Check out Luke 2, we see the love of God come to the forefront.  While there is much intentional noise and distraction attempting to turn people from the true reason of the season, God calls and draws us to Himself, through His Holy Spirit and faith in Christ.

I for one have realized and know peace with God, as well as the peace of God.  It then becomes a relationship, not a world religion.  We can thank, praise and worship Him, in song and lifestyle, not only for what He has done but who He is as well!

Keep on truckin' to Luke Chapter twenty-four.  Make that connection or reconnect with God today!

Silly Rabbit. Christmas is for kids!

Today I tuned onto a radio station that will play Christmas music from now to the end of the Holidays. I began to feel the spirit of the season.  I should be wondering, what the grand kids will do the night before Christmas, and how their faces might light up when they see their gifts.

Forget that, my thoughts went back to my own memories. Church  play practices and enjoying Christmas shopping.  When I think of Christmas memories, I  head back to when memory begins and work my way this way.  I have good emotional or inward feelings that are very real when those old Christmas standards begin to play on the radio.

Bing Crosby, johnny vibrato Mathis, Andy Williams and the Osmond Bros.  Songs by Nat King Cole, Dean Martin etc on one CD puts me instantly back in my childhood home . (I wouldn't buy these guys music any other time but Christmas).

Television was a big event during the holidays. There were the commercials like; Santa riding on a Norelco electric razor over snowy hills (Poorly done most likely).  Christmas T.V. specials were just that, special.  Today the celebrities are a dime a dozen while on a float they lip sync to their hit on a Disney phoney baloney  X mass parade.

The presents were great.  My mom went through Christmas heck, trying to find just the right size of long Johns (?) or shirt and a box to wrap them up.  Most often there were a ton of gifts under the tree; a great game or even T.V action figures, once it was a T.V.  One year I received a James Bond attache case complete with a luger inside and wire shoulder stock and bullets that shot out of the case.  Most of us grew up wanting to be shooters but only at the bad guys!  One year I got a couple of six shooters and a cowboy hat to fight the bad Indians until I found out we were the bad guys, that pushed, allowed, forced them to live in the picturesque rocks of our nation. Talk about a white Christmas!

Thanks Bob Hope and mom for the memories.

Ho Ho Ho, I think I'll take a sleigh ride to Boca Rotan  this season.

Amazed

There were occasion Christ was amazed by the faith of some people he met.  Some not even of the Children of Israel."

In the book of Mark He had done many great miracles and taught the crowds.  They were amazed at His power and authority.  In Mark six they had little faith.  He could do only a few miracles. They were even offended by the message.

It says He was amazed by their unbelief. Amazed by the faith of some. Amazed by the lack of it in others.

With what group, do you and I stand ?
